Redmond Municipal Airport recommends that every passenger should arrive at the airport two hours before the boarding time. They should proceed with the TSA security screening as soon as possible, and this way, passengers will have more time to relax in the duty-free area and fly without stress.
Airport administration and TSA encourages passengers to organize their carry-on bags and individual wrap-up items.
At the TSA security checkpoints, TSA employees instruct passengers to separate items such as powders, foods, etc. from their carry-on bags. This way, the X-ray machine will screen the bag. Passengers are obliged to put away any electronic device from the bags to the security containers. Also, they are asked to take off watches and other metal things for the full-body screening.
Transportation Security Administration restricts the number of liquids, gels, and aerosols passengers can have in their carry-on bags. These items must be in 3.4 ounces containers or less. Items, such as sporting equipment, tools, sharp objects, guns, and firearms, explosive materials may be a subject for additional screening.
TSA employees are not searching for marijuana or other drugs; in particular, they are mainly focused on harmful items, but if the screening detects an illegal substance security team will refer the case to law enforcement officers.
At the airport checkpoints, every passenger over 18 must present a valid identification form. From 1 October 2020, REAL ID will be considered as a minimum identification standard. Alternative identification documents include Driver’s license, U.S. passport, Permanent resident card, Foreign government-issued passport, etc.
